DAY 332 EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK

Tuesday, 25 February 2014 DAY 675 332 MOON 23 WANING 28%

A real bed! We woke up early 6AM (9am Brasil time) and went to breakfast – American Breakfast. Strange, yellow colored eggs, sausage, milk cereal, waffles, whipped cream – the works. We went swimming on last time and then took off towards Naples. The rental car is working great and reaching fuel economy of 46 miles per gallon. We must have cruised past 100 alligators hiding lurking in the fresh waters of the everglades. We drove the Baron Collier built highway #41 to Naples. I know the history of the road and the county of this southwest region because of the beautiful storytelling of Mick J Chapman. His two girls were waiting for us on the corner as if they were selling lemonade, with sidewalk chalk in hand. “They’re here! They’re here!” as they ran back and warned the others. A much more warmer welcome than at airport customs. The transformation has already started in the drive over as we saw strange birds and even stranger alligators. But now it was almost official that we had arrived at a little piece of heaven on Earth – a warm household with two little girls and all their toys and a Barbie jeep that Ezra quickly reconnoitered. Smiles and joy, everywhere.
