DAY 316 COSTA DA LAGOA

Sunday, 9 February 2014 DAY 659 316 MOON 23 WAXING 63%
Viena asked the difference between God and Jesus. We watched a webcast of one of Mylon’s basketball games. Ezra woke up with a morning mantra of “Mom!” He would not stop. We were up around 7am trying to prepare to walk the Ratones trail to Lagoa. I tried to wake André and he said he would meet us at the 8:50sm bus. However, we ended up taking an earlier bus since the connection was perfect and the day was not going to get any cooler. I thought he would be able to catch up with us on the trail. The trail was full of butterflies. Oh, before the trail, before the bus, about 100 meters from our house we saw 2 saqui monkeys. Who needs to walk through the jungle when you live in a jungle? We crossed over to the other side of the island. We found a nice shaded beach near the last boat stop. We picnicked in peace except for the pokey caterpillars that kept parachuting from the leaves of the trees onto our backpack. The boat ride back was bouncy. Viena slipped on the trail doing stunts.
