Thursday, 16 January 2014 DAY 635 292 MOON 22 FULL 100%
The dog is barking at me from downstairs. He knows I wrongly reported his demise yesterday in the thunderstorm. The boy in the green McDonalds hat walks by. He used to live across the street. Now he lives up the street and walks past his old house every day. The dog is doing down-dog yoga pose. The 16th. A full moon. A separator day. A day of rest. A day of laundry. McDonalds items are held onto here in Brasil as a status symbol like a Rolex watch. We once saw a young kid adult carry around an empty McDonalds fries and drink container for an entire afternoon, just to show everyone where he had eaten. McDonalds is expensive here. The jungle is in front of me and past the jungle is the Lagoa and past the Lagoa is the Atlantic Ocean and over the Atlantic Ocean is from where we came. How many generations did it take to forget where they came from in the beginning. Now, a quick flight will take you back to the homeland, or anywhere else – the age of travel. The dog is now howling a howl I have not heard him howl before. Maybe he is a bit resurrected. The sun is behind a thick layer of clouds that can easily be unveiled when the sun feels like talking. I accidentally made acai popsicles and they were so delicious. Houses of yellow, pink, green and blue cascade up the mountainside. This morning across the street, they had fresh bread and fresh milk. Jungle mist rises. Maybe I will run there today. A girl walks hand in hand with her grandma down the street as a car drives speedily past and another drives speedily around the corner. Tightly, hold on tightly!
