Lift up your hearts with a smile
Lift up your feet with a dance
Lift up your spirits with a song
Its family time its family time its family time

ZIGGY MARLEY

The day is hot, but the day began like a misty San Francisco morning, socked in. We even had a little rain, but by mid-day the heat was on with the sun shining straight down. From our veranda, you can watch the neighbors going out for their day. Brasil has a split day school schedule. A child can either go to school for 4 hours in morning or for 4 hours in the afternoon. We saw a boy holding a popsicle in both hands that I am sure were both for him. A girl ran home quickly for her mom who was also waiting at the bus stop to grab something “important”. She made it back before the bus arrived. Her mother thanked her. The other people waiting at the bus stopped all celebrated as if they were all on a team and the girl scored a point versus the soon arriving bus. We are out of drinking water, so hopefully the market up the street has refills, but now the time is 1pm and they are closed for siesta form 12- 2pm. We all went and played soccer and ran at the un-developed development in the jungle, a great place to let everyone be outside. Too bad they do not have more public parks in Florianópolis. If they made this area a park and connected the trail to Ratones, oh, what a treasure that would be! Everyone was exhausted for bed, and the mosquitoes were waiting.
