7 JUNE 2012. Sand Beach - ACADIA NP

A beautiful sandy beach along a very rocky coastline. The beach was virtually empty when we arrived, but two bus loads of field-tripping students arrived to squash the calming tidal sounds.

7 June 2012. Sunrise - Acadia National Park.

Happy Birthday Ira. I wanted to give you a photo of the sun rising over the Atlantic. We are in Acadia National Park. The sun rose at 4:44AM and coincidentally the temperature was 44.4 degrees Fahrenheit. We were up on Cadillac Peak, which has 360 degrees view of the park. Everyone was sleeping in the back of the van, but I ran around the summit snapping photos of this beautiful morning. Last night we camped in the Black woods, appropriately named. Viena and I tried and tried and tried last night to make a fire from the wet wood of the forest. We were finally successful after much kindling collection. We sure needed Mylon’s fire starting skills last night. Today, we might explore the park, or we might drive on to cross the border into Canada. What would you do? Still cloudy today, but one of the clearest days we have had in weeks.
